Getting through 3rd year at Uni can seem a bit daunting. Once you’ve graduated then you have some choices to make about your next steps. But, let’s talk about that later.

Schedule

You might think that you’re going to be overloaded with work and not enough time to get it done. However, you will get there as long as you make the time.

If you’re struggling to balance uni & work, you might want to talk to your manager about cutting down your hours slightly. This will give you more time to do your studies, which needs to be your priority. Not everyone can afford to cut their hours down, so you may need to think of other ways to free up your time. Rather than going out to meet friends, suggest meeting up at your accommodation for a group study session. This will give you both time to prepare for your finals.

Create a strict schedule and make sure you stick to it. It can often feel like your life is always on a schedule but ensure that you also make some time for yourself too. This could be you going to visit family, going to the gym, reading or catching up with friends. Think about the workload that you have and give yourself extra time to complete it. But you should also remember to take care of yourself. If you have exams coming up, give yourself plenty of time to prepare for these as well.

Use Resources

As a university student, you will know how expensive it can be. So, take everything you can and use it to your best advantage. If you’re struggling with essays, get yourself down to the library and do some research. If you are known to miss lectures every now and then, don’t make that mistake this year! You will need all the information you can get. Now is not the time to start giving up when you are so close to getting your degree. If you’re struggling, view our guide to help you revise.

Check Your Money

It can be easy to spend more money in your final year. You may be stressed, and binge eat or feel like you need a night out with your friends. This is fine, but make sure that you have enough money to pay for all your essentials. Be wise with your money, plan your meals, budget for your days out and don’t overspend.

Look After Yourself

This is important to remember. If you don’t look after yourself, you may not get the results that you want. Check up on your friends from time-to-time too and see how they’re coping. We have a range of blogs about how to take care of yourself while at university:
