Making Revision Fun
When you have been in education for what feels like an age, learning can sometimes seem boring. However, there are ways to make learning fun again which will help you retain information better.
-
Use Colour
Did you know that we retain information better when we write in colour? So, the next time you are revising, use a bright coloured pen rather than the standard black or blue. Plus, you can always use highlighters to make the important information stand out.
-
Mix it Up
Don’t just write in lists and sentences, write all over the page by creating a mind map. The topic you are making notes on goes in the middle of the circle and then any ideas or notes you have stem off from the circle. And there you have a mind map! This just makes the whole learning process that bit more fun. You can Google ‘creating mind maps’ for more info how to create them.
-
Work in Groups
How easy is it to get distracted when you’re working on your own? Sometimes the silence is too loud. Invite a couple of your friends round to help you focus. After all, they might need a study buddy too.
-
Make Some Food
Did you know that eating dark chocolate improves the blood flow to the brain? This will help you to retain information for longer. You can always team this up with some fruit as you’ll need some brain food too.
The next time you are revising, remember that it does not always have to be sitting on your own with textbooks laid out in front of you. Try having fun with it because at the end of the day, you do not want to be stressed or fed up with a subject you love.
