The world is slowly opening up once again and travelling the world is not just a dream anymore, but the way we travel with the ongoing pandemic will change dramatically.

As we are well aware, this virus is not going to go away quickly, but some countries are already reopening their borders and putting in safety measures to be able to receive tourists.

If you are planning a summer trip, here are some essentials you should be packing. Some are obvious but leaving home without them might cause you a headache.

Your Coronavirus travel must haves: –

Face Masks – It is more than likely you will not be allowed into the airport without one, but make sure you pack a few – disposable or reusable.  Thinking about the environment and your wallet, reusable ones are probably a better option in the long term.

Hand Sanitiser – The most effective needs to be above 60% alcohol.

Travel Detergent – Handy to wash those reusable masks once they have had a few outings.

Disinfectant Wipes – It is impossible in an airport not to touch things or have other people touch things, i.e., your passport. Wiping down things before you touch them or after others have is easier with a wipe.

Thermometer – To keep a check on your temperature, as a fever is one of the main symptoms for Covid–19.

Insurance Documents – Obviously, this is not new, however insurance companies are now offering policies to cover Coronavirus.

Negative Test Result – Depending on where you are travelling to, some countries will require proof of a negative test result 48 hours before you are due to fly.

Proof of Quarantine – Some countries you will have to quarantine when you arrive, so you will need proof you have somewhere to stay for this period of time.

Contactless Payment Method – The less you touch, the better. Using your contactless card or phone to pay reduces having to touch PIN pads or cash machines.

Smartphone or Tablet – Lots of places are now relying on apps to reduce face to face contact, so your phone and/or tablet will be vital to order food and drinks or even checking into your hotel.

Portable Battery Charger – Using your phone and tablet more means more battery use.  You cannot mains charge while you are out so a power pack to keep things charged is going to be a lifesaver.

Selfie Stick – You may well roll your eyes but gone are the days when you can ask a stranger to take that photo on your phone, so a selfie stick will mean you will not miss those photo opportunities.

So travelling is going to be a little different from now on and you need to be a little more prepared, but as long as you have your passport and follow these tips you will be good to go.
