Looks like Autumn has arrived! So, as well as dark nights, pumpkins, Halloween, scary movies and everything cosy, for a lot of you, it also means back to Uni! After many weeks off, it’s time to get back into a routine and here are a few things that may help.
Ditch the bad sleeping pattern
Everyone loves a good lay-in but now that summer is over, it’s time to get back into that routine. If you don’t want to sacrifice the amount of sleep that you have been getting, then try going to sleep earlier. Getting at least 8 hours sleep at night will mean that you are well rested, and your brain will stay focused for longer.
Stay Focused
You will need to get your head back in the game. Now is the time to really focus as the hard work begins. Now you have your timetable confirmed, you can start making yourself a rough schedule for when you are working, revising and at lectures, this way you are working some sort of routine back into your life again.
Remember to stick to your budgets
Now that you’re back at Uni, you will have to get used to having more expensive outgoings again. Many of you returning to Uni might have moved out of rented student accommodation and back into it again, so remember when your payments are due. You can’t be spending more than you can afford on nights out and shopping in the sales. Working out how much you have available to go out each week will make your Uni life a lot less stressful.
Get the balance back
No doubt that you will have gotten used to the late nights, late mornings, lounging and doing things at a slower pace, but it’s important that you get some balance back in your life. Divide your time accordingly between work, Uni, revision and downtime. University is stressful enough without having to add extra pressures on yourself. For many of you, this will be the only point in your life that you attend university so enjoy it and do it right.
Give yourself a goal
By giving yourself something to work towards, you will feel motivated to do the set tasks, not the tasks set by yourself but by your lecturers.
With all that being said, we wish you a most enjoyable time and the best luck at Uni!
