Sheffield Beer Week 2022
Sheffield Beer Week is a week-long festival that celebrates the region’s brewing landscape. It takes place on the 7th of March and runs until the 13th of March and is all about the world of beer and sharing inspirations and creations from around the globe. Many of Sheffield’s bars and restaurants come together for this celebration to host beer events across the city.
This event is a much-needed boost for the cities hospitality and brewing sector after almost 2 years of closures and interruptions to business, although this year there will still be a hybrid event using both online and in-person events.
To kick off the week’s events, Sheffield’s Indie Beer Feast launches on the 4th of March. This will be a celebration of the independent craft beers and will feature brewery bars, street food and wines and ciders. The theme for this year’s festival is Hope, and the breweries include Sheffield based Saint Mars of the desert, Lost Industry and Abbeydale.
There will also be a focus on cider with both Ross and Hogans hosting bars and low intervention wines showcasing in their Italian portfolio.
Another event taking place in the beer week is the Pub and Industrial Heritage Walk, on the 11th of March at 16:00 and lasting until 17:45. Join Dave Pickersgill for a talk and walk around Kelham Island and Neepsend. The walk starts at the Fat Cat pub in Kelham Island and goes past the oldest working brewery in Sheffield and several pubs before finishing in Neepsend close to the now derelict, Cannon Brewery. The guide price is £3.95 per person.
