Sheffield is full of places for students to visit, explore and chill out, following a hard nose-to-the-books week. Here’s just a few ideas:
- Sheffield is well known for its diverse array of pubs, clubs, and bars, including Corporation (Corp), The Graduate, and Bungalows and Bears. Sports bars include The Cavendish on West Street and Live bands and DJs at the Dove & Rainbow.
- Go shopping. One thing Sheffield does have are some fantastic shopping areas, Meadowhall is a tram-ride away, including the Oasis Dining Quarter, where you can get anything from Thai food to Tacos, in-between exploring FatFace, Timberland and many other top-of-the-range shops.
- Sheffield has several excellent museums and galleries, including the Millennium Gallery, the Kelham Island Museum, and the Sheffield Museum.
- Home to many green spaces and parks, Sheffield includes the city centre temperate glasshouse of the Winter Garden, a wonderful walk through Ecclesall Woods, or Sheffield Botanical Gardens…. you’ll be spoilt for choice.
- Go to a concert or show. With amazing venues like the O2 Academy, Sheffield Arena, and Sheffield City Hall there’s always plenty going on.
- Take a walk or cycle ride. It’s a great city to explore on foot or by bike.
- Watch a sporting event. Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United Football Clubs, and Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey Team are just three of the many great sports teams you’ll find in Sheffield.
