Top Netflix Picks for January 2022
January can feel like the most depressing month of the year, Christmas is over, and it often feels so cold and gloomy. Well, one way you can brighten those long January days up is with Netflix and there have been many amazing series and films released recently to keep you entertained.
Money Heist – If you haven’t already seen it, it is about a group of people planning and taking part in a heist of the royal mint of Spain. One of the main characters is The Professor who has planned the heist and the show follows how he recruits others to take part in his plan. The series recently ended so all are available to binge-watch if you have time. Whilst it is in Spanish, it’s well dubbed and there are also subtitles, so anyone can enjoy this amazing show.
Another binge-worthy show is Selling Sunset, probably more for the ladies but many men will also get hooked. It follows the real estate agents at The Oppenheim group in LA who specialise in selling multi-million-dollar properties as well as taking part in many arguments with each other. It is so easy to watch in a couple of days as episodes are only 30 minutes and there are currently 4 seasons available with the 5th being released early in 2022.
If you haven’t already watched Squid Game, you should really give it a go! It’s a Korean drama about people competing in children’s games in order to win millions of pounds, although there is one catch, when you are eliminated, you get killed! The popularity of this show has exploded and is one of Netflix’s most popular shows ever. There is currently only one season but talks of another are in progress so get watching to be ready.
Sex Education is another binge-worthy TV show. Set in England it follows teenagers as they attend 6th form and follows all the embarrassing events being a teenager brings, including parental issues. It has become another one of Netflix’s most popular shows and there are 3 seasons with the 4th currently being filmed. Otis is the main character who we follow from the beginning with his mum Jean, a sex therapist played by Gillian Anderson of X-File fame.
