What To Do For Halloween 2021
With last year’s Halloween being in lockdown we have some making up to do this year. If you’re not sure what to do, here are a few ideas for you and your friends that might help you have the best Halloween yet.
Although you’re now at university and away from home it doesn’t mean you’re too old to carve a pumpkin! So, get down to your local shop, grab a pumpkin and have a carving night with your friends. To make it a bit more adult, pop a horror film on in the background and mix up some Halloween inspired cocktails. Have a competition with your house mates to see who’s pumpkin is the best, maybe through an Instagram poll or just decide between yourselves. This will kick off your spooky celebrations and give you some decorations for the outside of your student accommodation.
As Halloween is all about being scared, another idea could be having a movie night with all your favourite terrifying films. With many horror films being uploaded to Netflix around October this would be perfect as you could binge-watch as many as you like. To make it more Halloween like why not add some Halloween decorations and top it off with sweets and popcorn, not forgetting that pillow to hide behind. Some of the films being added this month include all the Halloweens (apart from the new one which will be available to watch in cinemas), The Conjuring and Insidious.
If you’re looking for something a little scarier than a film, why not try an escape room experience? There are a couple in Sheffield and some of the themes are very eery indeed.
Another idea for celebrating Halloween is a themed costume party. You could have themes based around films or tv programmes, put them into the hat and get one person to pick one out. Everyone can then make their costumes to suit that theme and have a great party. This would be good for pre-drinks before going out into Sheffield.
Some Halloween costumes for this year are:
Cruella Deville
Money Heist characters
Halloween – Michael Myers
Game of Thrones
Suicide Squad Characters
These are obviously just a few ideas. TV shows and films are often the best place for ideas for outfits, and you can find a lot of last-minute costumes online if you don’t fancy making them.
Sheffield has lots of amazing nightclubs to enjoy your evening at, in costume of course! We hope you have a great Halloween and most importantly, stay safe. If you need any help with student accommodation in Sheffield, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
